Did you see
the date today??? Where did this year go? I look back, as we
all do at this time of the year -- over the years and see
different things that put us where we are right now...then we
look at the past year and see how fast it went first of
all....where did the warm weather go.....why am I typing with my
gloves on....LOL...Last year, Dec 30th, JW & Josh
told us it was time for them to move on....now when a guy leaves
a group...it is hard in a lot of ways, I have been singing for a
lot of years...and have lost many, many, many people from groups
I have been in....and it is always hard.....
1, because you
are used to the way they sing or play....you say your words the
same...come in and cut off at the same time....you know what
they are going to do...and they know what you are going to
do.....you are a unit a team....
2, you are
together so much...you are like brothers...you have hard times
on the road...and hard times bring people together...you have
mountain tops to shout about....you become family.
3, people have
the favorites...that is just a given...the people who come to
the concerts will always pick and like a particular person and
whoever replaces that person, no matter how good they are, will
never replace their favorite pick..
So back to
Jan 1, we started with Ray, myself & Tim...looking for a
tenor....now you want to do something hard....look for a
tenor....I thought for a while God had stopped making them....we
had Jerry Palmer filling in for us....and he did a great
job.....we had guys try out but they just did not have what we
needed.....Then the Lord put Derrick Boyd here.....now I have
said all a long when God has been ready to move someone from the
Woodsmen Qt, every single time a replacement was right
there....when Ed left Brandon was right there...the first night
of tryouts....when Brandon left, Cody was already traveling with
us....when Cody left Ray was the only guys we called.....I think
people make decisions and God gives us freewill and if we don’t
follow His will-- He sometimes closes the door.....when He
closed that door, He opened it for Derrick.....God is good.....
Thursday
-- went to Mary’s family’s Thanksgiving ...WOW they can
cook.....Friday
--Mary and I went shopping.....now when you have kids and they
are small you can buy them lots of stuff with a little
money....but as they get bigger ...their toys get bigger
also....Mary and I shopped for about an hour and we were
broke.....and still are not done....but are not going to over
due either....
On
the Road
Saturday
we were in Battle Creek, MI singing and as we were setting up it
started snowing...hard.....it snowed all day
Sunday, we sang in
two morning services then that night ....it was a mess on
the outside but the Lord moved on the inside,...we had a great
time....packed house....
Derrick
He is
fine....he and his wife were in MI seeing Derrick’s
sister-in-law... they were very nice people....Derrick is
looking forward to Christmas....and getting back to work on our
new recording.....Dec 20th.
Cody
He doesn’t
have no sense at all......I love him like a brother....when it
started snowing he was panicked....I mean scared...LOL.....he is
so funny.
Tim
Now he does
not care about snow....I don’t think he is scared of
anything....except Sheila...LOL

I am fine
can’t wait to see that grandbaby of mine......man she is cute
